Have a favorite piece of clothing that is no longer wearable - but you love the fabric so much you don't want to toss it?
Have you lost a loved one and have some of their favorite clothing you'd like to use to make something useable and honor their memory?
You may have seen or heard of people making memory bears from favorite pieces of clothing - while I love a nice snuggly stuffed animal, I find a memory bowl to be much more useful and practical in my life. These bowls are made with thick cotton clothesline rope - I cut the fabric into strips and wrap it around the rope and then stitch it all together into a decorative and useful bowl.
You would send me a pic of the clothing item, and I could then look at it and make sure it's a fabric that would work in this context. In general, I can create 2 items out of one piece of adult clothing (if shirt, with long sleeves). Just want one bowl? I can do that, and return unused fabric if you would like. You would then mail me the clothing - and within 2 weeks I will make and return to you a finished product that honors the memory of the fabric, and the person who wore it.
Price listed is for two bowls that are approx 6-7 inches across and 3-4 inches high. I will work with you to make what you'd like - round bowls, planters, ovals, etc... Price could go down or up depending on what you are looking for.
