Sports car racing and coupon organizing?   Can you think of anywhere this would be a smart marketing tie in?

I sure didn’t, but in support of my hubby’s passion – sports car racing (scca) – I became one of his sponsors this year.   My GlowGirl logo is proudly displayed on the hood and both sides of his car.

In exchange for the honor of being a sponsor – he displays my logo and passes out my business card to the curious – and I buy him a set of new tires.

Gotta say it is a strange hook up, but he’s really great at talking up my business.  When I’m at a show, he’s by far the best sales rep I have!

Unfortunately, shortly after getting the stickers on the car, he was injured (not from racing) and will be off the race circuit until next spring.    At least I hadn’t forked out for the tires yet!

Now that he’s home recuperating I’ve discovered he’s pretty handy with a rotary cutter and order packing. A far cry from his beloved car racing…but good healing is happening.

if I can get him to focus away from car races on TV, of course.

Ssshhh…he hasn’t remembered he still has a playstation complete with steering wheel/petals that I fear he may pull out of storage and hook up in the living room!

I was contacted by Health Magazine last fall for an upcoming article about organization. My first national print publication possibility!! They had chosen a specific organizer they wanted to use and had me fed ex it to them pronto!  Then the wait begins.. the article was pushed back from Jan 2011, to March….and was finally printed in the April 2011 edition – on your newsstands now!!

Am SO happy with the response I’ve received and the additional traffic it has brought to my store. It is very gratifying to see my product in a national magazine.

Business continues to move forward, ideas continue to swirl – and customer suggestions have been an invaluable aid in the direction of what I do. I am honored to have such a great customer base who are SO enthusiastic about what I’m making!

Back to work! More media opportunities coming my way…I have to keep sewing to keep up with it all!

One of my favorite craft shows came through town a couple weeks ago. If you’re not familiar with the ACC Craft Shows, I HIGHLY recommend you check one out!

I live within a budget…so I couldn’t go wild and buy alot of things I was drooling over, but I did pick up a couple of smaller items!

and while I couldn’t purchase any of Ann Brauer’s work this year, I always stop and say hi and check out what she’s been up to.  I have one of her quilts that hangs in our bedroom, and is one of the most beautiful and rewarding pieces of art I have in my home.   She’s been showing at the ACC show for years.  I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t spend time each year looking and loving what she’s been creating!   This is my quilt!

I haven’t seen the show yet….but it’s on again tonight – Extreme Couponing on TLC 8:00pm EST.

I understand the people depicted are ridiculous in their hoarding style of couponing.  I work with couponers, both the avid and the casual beginner every day.  It is amazing to hear their stories of how much they save. In many cases they are buying items to donate to local organizations or to send overseas to troops. Others take the saved money to help fund college funds, vacations or just pay the mortgage in these tough times.

I’m honored to be able to offer a great way for people to store and carry their coupons to the store. No more big binders, akward envelopes or baggies!   Many of my avid couponing customers have wanted something HUGE… so I now offer up the big double wide carrier!   Check it out!!   It’s wild….but it works great!!

Can’t wait to watch this show tonight!  Maybe I should have looked into advertising with this show….!

Wow…been MONTHS since I’ve posted here. I actually consider this a good thing, as I’ve been spending the time healing, loving, creating, traveling, and generally having a blast!
