GlowGirl – Taking my business name to heart!
When I started this business, I decided on the name GlowGirl – it was catchy and was also a nickname I’ve had for years. I’m the fun (or crazy!) aunt who would show up at a family reunon with 200 glow necklaces. I’d give glow goodie bags to some of my fav musicians so they’d have some glowing fun on their tour bus, and I’ve been known to decorate and pass out glowing hearts, glowing hawaiian leis and other such silly glowing things at concerts. I’ve been out many a night with tiny little glowsticks pinned into my hair. I once decorated my entire home in glow and black lights for a halloween party.
But now I’ve internalized my name and am now glowing from the inside. I’m nearing the end of my radiation treatments and although I’m getting skin burns, I’m OK with having to endure the beams of energy shooting into me every day. But being the glowgirl I am, I was kind of hoping I’d have some kind of glow emanating from my boob….but no, if I want to glow externally I’ll have to keep using the commercial glow products! Those little mini glowsticks I used to pin in my hair just don’t look the same glued to a bald head!
A reminder of why plastic bag usage needs to be eliminated….
We can’t control the oil spill and the damages it is doing….but we can do our part to keep more plastic out of the waterways, the dumps and the world. If those aren’t good reasons, how about doing it for the innocent animals that get caught up in our plastic trash…
Promises, Promises!
Yipee! One of my favorite childhood musicals is back on Broadway! Last time it was on Broadway was 1968 -1972. I hadn’t heard the music for over 30 years and when I played the soundtrack a few years ago was surprised that all the words came right back to me! So excited it’s scheduled to run through December. It’s now on my agenda of things to do when I get back on my feet and can travel! Yipee!!

Music is by one of my absolute favorite composers - Burt Bacharach!!

Springtime is a’coming!
Loving this weather – it can’t help but make you feel more alive! Enjoying seeing the grass begin to re-appear and some bulbs starting to break ground. Can’t wait for daylight savings time this weekend! It will still be light out past 7pm and we can take nice evening walks and revisit with neighbors we haven’t seen all winter!
The dawn of spring also helps me feel better in my own health and healing. Just taking in the sun and warmth has been a great healing tool for me this week. I also continue to increase the many arts projects I have going and am becoming engrossed in one that is giving me particular joy.
I’m a big fan of Project Runway - bought myself a Mood Bag last year – it’s what I use each day when I head on out to the post office to deliver the previous days orders! Makes me feel like I’m a “designer”!!
I liked this pic – a little snow, a little sun, a little grass – and a whole lot of feeling good!
Shining still -
Deb
