There’s a coupon for just about anything you need!

Posted on July 27, 2010 by Deb in Updates

coke-sixpackCouponing is so easy these days! Don’t go anywhere without checking to see if there is a discount available! Google the store you’re heading out to…you’d be surprised what discount they may be offering! You can also search locally to see what deals are happening in your own town.

Try couponmap.com or moneymailer.com
These both allow you to search by your zip code – we’ve used it for when we want to eat out, but can’t decide where to go….and finding a great deal really makes the decision for us!

Other good standard places to get grocery store coupons are at:
redplum.com
smartsource.com
couponmom.com
coupons.com
couponcabin.com
couponsurfer.com

and that’s just a few of them. Where do you find your coupons? Spread the word…just about any coupon you need is just a click and print away!

GlowGirl – Taking my business name to heart!

Posted on July 12, 2010 by Deb in Updates

radioactive glowWhen I started this business, I decided on the name GlowGirl – it was catchy and was also a nickname I’ve had for years. I’m the fun (or crazy!) aunt who would show up at a family reunon with 200 glow necklaces. I’d give glow goodie bags to some of my fav musicians so they’d have some glowing fun on their tour bus, and I’ve been known to decorate and pass out glowing hearts, glowing hawaiian leis and other such silly glowing things at concerts. I’ve been out many a night with tiny little glowsticks pinned into my hair. I once decorated my entire home in glow and black lights for a halloween party.

But now I’ve internalized my name and am now glowing from the inside. I’m nearing the end of my radiation treatments and although I’m getting skin burns, I’m OK with having to endure the beams of energy shooting into me every day. But being the glowgirl I am, I was kind of hoping I’d have some kind of glow emanating from my boob….but no, if I want to glow externally I’ll have to keep using the commercial glow products! Those little mini glowsticks I used to pin in my hair just don’t look the same glued to a bald head!

A reminder of why plastic bag usage needs to be eliminated….

Posted on July 5, 2010 by Deb in Updates

We can’t control the oil spill and the damages it is doing….but we can do our part to keep more plastic out of the waterways, the dumps and the world. If those aren’t good reasons, how about doing it for the innocent animals that get caught up in our plastic trash…

Promises, Promises!

Posted on March 21, 2010 by Deb in Updates

Yipee!  One of my favorite childhood musicals is back on Broadway!   Last time it was on Broadway was 1968 -1972.    I hadn’t heard the music for over 30 years and when I played the soundtrack a few years ago was surprised that all the words came right back to me!  So excited it’s scheduled to run through December.  It’s now on my agenda of things to do when I get back on my feet and can travel!  Yipee!!

Music is by one of my absolute favorite composers -  Burt Bacharach!!

Springtime is a’coming!

Posted on March 9, 2010 by Deb in Updates

Loving this weather – it can’t help but make you feel more alive!  Enjoying seeing the grass begin to re-appear and some bulbs starting to break ground.  Can’t wait for daylight savings time this weekend!  It will still be light out past 7pm and we can take nice evening walks and revisit with neighbors we haven’t seen all winter!

The dawn of spring also helps me feel better in my own health and healing.  Just taking in the sun and warmth has been a great healing tool for me this week.   I also continue to increase the many arts projects I have going and am becoming engrossed in one that is giving me particular joy.

I’m a big fan of Project Runway -  bought myself a Mood Bag last year – it’s what I use each day when I head on out to the post office to deliver the previous days orders!  Makes me feel like I’m a “designer”!!

I liked this pic – a little snow, a little sun, a little grass – and a whole lot of feeling good!

Shining still -

Eco-Conscious Philosophy

We strive to re-use and not be wasteful, from the materials we purchase to make our products to our shipping supplies. We recycle/reuse/up cycle whenever possible!

We love to scour estate and yard sales, 2nd hand shops and remnant sources - Most of our tote bags are from great upholstery fabrics found this way!

* Peel and stick labels are 100% recycled paper
* Index card stock is 15% recycled paper (best I could find!)
* Mailers are 20% recycled 28# Kraft paper –I won't use plastic or tyvek envelopes!

We donate and share our excess fabrics and bits and pieces with other crafters and local organization(s). We encourage art and creativity in others!

Custom Orders Available

See a fabric you like, but want it in a different size?

Do you have a favorite fabric you'd like me to use to make your organizer? I'll make something from your fabric.

I have well over 100 fabrics in my stash. Let me know what colors/patterns/etc you like and I will send you photos of some other choices!

I'm here to make the coupon organizer that is best for YOUR needs!

Handmade and Homemade

With my job loss and a bad economy looming in 2008, I decided to forge my own future and this company was born. My organizer was designed by me solely because I could not find one that allowed me to sort my coupons the way I wanted them.

By the time the 4th person had stopped to admire my organizer, the light bulb had gone off in my head! I fine tuned the design and now happily spend my days making one of the best coupon organization systems available!

These fabric organizers will last years longer than any plastic and paper choice out there – and who doesn’t want to save with some style?

Our tote bags, reusable sandwich and produce bags have eliminated all of our plastic use. Join in and reduce your everyday plastic use - with handmade, stylish and practical GlowGirl Fibers products!
